Counter-Protest of the Westboro Baptist Church

On Saturday night at the Midland Theatre in downtown Kansas City MO there was a pre-screening for the forthcoming film Red State. The barking loons at Topeka’s Westboro Baptist Church didn’t care for that too much (they don’t like much of anything really), so they protested across from the theater, while a larger counter-protest took place directly in front of the doors to the Midland. In this post three shots are of the counter-protest and one is of the Westboro group.

1) Counter Protest of the Westboro Baptist Church

2) Counter Protest of the Westboro Baptist Church

For the next shot featuring the actual Westboro klan, note the counter-protestor with his sign from across the street who snuck behind the stark raving mad Phelps woman in the foreground.

3) Protest by the fringe Westboro Baptist Church

Another great photo series. Those assholes and finally some counter protests. You should be a contributing photographer for a major paper or the AP or Reuters, or somebody! Are you?

Westboro Baptist Church spreads its hate through picketing in our streets, provoking attacks, with abusive language and flag desecration, attempting to create a confrontation. This is not a church, this is a hate group. This is not about protesting, freedom, or God. They are in it for the money and the press; this is a family law firm. They are not a “church.” It is a scam. They go after anything that can get them in the news. This is a family of lawyers!

Ahh, just one more great example of human incompetence. Everyone please listen to me, I have a question EVERYONE needs to ask.

If there are people that interpret a book like “The Bible” as a book you read to find out that YOU are awesome and everyone else is wrong, (being gay is wrong) think of your RELIGION in general.

Religion to me, is defined as: “A Human Mythology that is perceived as Fact rather than Fiction”

There are millions of books that tell stories. “The Illiad” is a book. The “Bible” is a book. The “Quran” is a book. In Rome, it was decided by men thousands of years ago, that out of all the books we have on the planet, that “New Testament” will be the one book we take as fact rather than mythology.

ALL RELIGION IS, is a group of stories about 1 super-human that we deem as TRUTH.

To believe in any type of religion, the only thing you need to do is…

    Like Fairytales.
    The End.

Religion=The Fairytale you decide should be real.
