Photos from inside the former trading floor at the Kansas City Board of Trade. I took these on September 23rd while the exterior wheat sculpture removal was underway. I worked at the Board of Trade for six years, up until the final day of trading on June 28th, 2013 – after the acquisition of the Kansas City Board of Trade by Chicago-based CME Group. The KC Wheat futures and options contracts now trade alongside the Chicago wheat contract both by electronic trading on CME Globex, and in the open-outcry pits at the Chicago Board of Trade.

The Kansas City Board of Trade building will now undergo renovation, with plans for Populous Architects to move in by 2016.
