Nighttime city photography of a descending rainstorm over downtown Kansas City. On the night of August 26th, 2016 after returning some videotapes, I decided to stake out Washington Square Park and attempt rain and storm photography while hoping I would be able to dodge the worst of the torrential downpours. I nabbed four pictures in succession that vaguely alluded to the rainfront overtaking the skyline and moving southward toward the park. Despite taking shelter under a tall tree with a large piece of sheetmetal to protect myself from the rains, the verdict of the gods rendered me a soaking mess. At that time commenced a mad dash of camera bag-weighted cardiovascular endurance as I leaped from my arboreal protections and back to my motorcarriage parked at the curb. Flash floods began to transpire across the cityscape, and I was left with no other option than to plot a circuitous route back to the protections of my domicile, taking special care to avoid low-lying areas.
