Sun Pavilion Exhibit at the Nelson Atkins Museum

On Thursday evening I shot photos of the Sun Pavilion solar panel installation on the south lawn of the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City, Missouri. The temporary installation is part of the Museum’s World’s Fairs exhibit currently running.

Shipping Container Art Installation Across from KC Federal Reserve

Four shots of the temporary conceptual art installation by John Salvest in Penn Valley Memorial Park that happens to be across from the Kansas City branch of the Federal Reserve. Made of shipping contrainers, it spells out USA and IOU.

2011 KC Dragon Boat Races

I stopped by the Dragon Boat Races on the Plaza for a few minutes on Saturday – it’s an event of rowing competitions in boats designed like dragons, organized by the KC Society for Friendship With China in partnership with KC Parks and Recreation.
