For full FAA Part 107 compliance, I was able to launch and operate from a nearby empty field and maintain line of sight on my flying camera drone. When I saw that an event had finished, I was able to safely maneuver above to get a decent shot without the risk of people and crowds below.
Below again is my “flight plan” submission to the 1800WXBrief portal earlier that day. For Part 107 compliance, this is the part of the process that essentially announces the pilot’s intentions in advance of the planned drone flight.
